서울 태생의 DJ SOULSCAPE는 1990년대 후반부터 활동을 시작한 한국 컨템포러리 음악 문화를 대표하는 아티스트로, 방대한 레코드 컬렉션과 바이닐 컬처를 기반으로 과거와 현재를 넘나드는 음악적 서사를 구축하며 다양한 장르의 음악을 대중에게 소개해왔다. 한국 최초로 DJ로서 자신의 오리지널 프로덕션 음반을 발매했으며, 프로듀서·편곡자·음악 감독으로서 영화, 방송, 다큐멘터리, 패션, 미디어 아트 등 폭넓은 영역에서 활동하고 있다. 2007년부터는 1970년대 한국의 훵크, 소울, 락, 대중음악을 재조명하는 〈The Sound of Seoul〉 시리즈를 통해 잊혀진 한국 음악 유산을 젊은 세대에게 소개해왔으며, DJ 크루 360 SOUNDS의 설립자로서 바이닐 기반 파티 Strictly Vinyl과 정기적인 8시간 바이닐 올나잇 셋을 통해 세대와 장르를 넘나드는 협업을 지속하고 있다. 2019년부터는 KBS 다큐멘터리 시리즈 〈모던코리아〉의 음악 감독으로 활동 중이다.

Born and based in Seoul, DJ SOULSCAPE has been active since the late 1990s and is recognized as a key figure in Korean contemporary music culture, drawing from an extensive vinyl collection to bridge past and present while introducing diverse musical narratives across genres. He is widely acknowledged as the first DJ in Korea to release an original production album under his own name and works across film, television, documentaries, and media art as a producer, arranger, and music director. Since 2007, he has led The Sound of Seoul, a project dedicated to rediscovering Korean funk, soul, rock, and popular music from the 1970s, and as the founder of the DJ collective 360 SOUNDS, he continues to champion vinyl culture through the all-vinyl party series Strictly Vinyl and his renowned 8-hour all-night vinyl sets. Since 2019, he has served as music director for KBS’s documentary series Modern Korea.
