서울 영등포를 기반으로 활동하는 음악가 Mogwaa는 2017년 Clique Records를 통해 발표한 <Déjà Vu>로 국내외 전자 음악 신에 이름을 알렸다. Public Possession, Bless You, Klasse Wrecks, More Rice 등 세계 주요 레이블과 협업하며 꾸준히 결과물을 발표해왔고, 8BallTown에서 선보인 <Open Mind>로 2021 한국대중음악상 댄스 & 일렉트로닉 음반 부문을 수상했다. 하드웨어 악기를 중심으로 한 그의 작업은 부기 훵크, 레게·덥, 하우스, 다운템포, 드럼 앤 베이스까지 폭넓게 확장되며, 매일 스튜디오에서 새로운 사운드를 탐구하는 태도에서 출발한다. 장르보다 삶의 방식과 감각을 음악으로 옮기는 그는 여전히 가장 현재진행형의 서울 사운드를 만들어가고 있다.

Seoul-based musician Mogwaa emerged in 2017 with Déjà Vu on Clique Records and has since built a strong presence in the global electronic scene through releases on labels such as Public Possession, Bless You, Klasse Wrecks, and More Rice. His album Open Mind, released on 8BallTown, won the 2021 Korean Music Award for Best Dance & Electronic Album. Rooted in analog hardware, his productions move fluidly across boogie, reggae, dub, house, downtempo, and drum & bass, shaped by a daily studio practice and constant sonic exploration. Rather than following genres, Mogwaa translates his way of living and listening into sound, continuing to define a distinctly contemporary Seoul-based musical voice.
